It is the first time I see this interesting topic and I just want to say hello to all people who enjoy saying and discussing something in English. I personally think that learning is a continuing process regardless of your ages and learning English is even more and more important nowadays for many purposes, at least to help us better understand things that happen around the world or assist our children in their English learning.

- Do transcript ten minutes CNN10 as fast as you can. Put it here.
- You guys please do not turn CC on at first, do not see the transcript until you finish and put it on OF forum, do not change your submition for any reasons.
- Try to read out loud your transcipt as same people in the video as possible
- You guys can do this daily or weekly on Sunday
- You guys who can help to correct members' mistakes please summaries the popular mistakes, guides to correct it and corrects members' mistakes if possible. Lord UAZ is invited to be the first great instructor, professor

We used to sit down, enjoyed our drinks, talked about ourselves, our lives... in English and English only when we established this CLUB. However, due to many reasons including an event where a founder, a former and the first admin of this Otofun forum has passed away so the coffee session has ended. If around 10 members interested in resuming the session, I would be happy to callout for another session for us

as i remember in my previous clubs (longtime ago), if no preparation and no pressure, about two third of participants will just seat and eat actually the lead discussant will be rolled over among all members, each member will have to select a topic, prepare talking points, and send to the club in advance so that other members can prepare their arguments, for or against.

Which E skills is important depends on you and your work. There are just two skills namely productive and receptive ones. In some cases you are silver-tongered so you are suitable to become an interpreter for example. In other cases you suit to be a translator instead.
Speaking E frequently does not help you in listening better but quite on the contrary.

In my opinion, listening is the most important skill to master English. If you are good at listening, you can talk, read and write effectively with ease.

You got it right. Theoretically, you speak what you have listened and you tend to write down what you have read, not the way round or else tou would sound weird.

I am too, i love to see all people around here. I ensure that is a briliant decision, cause we can share and get smt new from everyone.

Agreed! You got my vote too. I love the idea that we have a group of families who when together only converse in english. Can be anywhere, maybe some cafeteria etc... have a good time drink some beer and practice too!

I dont think serious / formal topics is a must for discussing and conversing. Experienced from our previous group ( Chim Bao Bao is one of the founders ) we always tried to make the atmosphere to be most comfortable to everyone and encourage all members to speak out all things they want/ can speak in E. Of course among us always have ... like a leader / guider to lead the discussion and to help the lower level in expressing their thought in English or translate from Vnese to Eng some words that the lower one doesn't know how to say in E. I myself had learnt a lot from those meetings as my level was improved gradually.

Agree!!!
Pre-selected topic will be great if all the members of the class/club have the same level. You see, it is imposible/or you have to have the entrance test and group them together by level.
My experience, free talk is more comfortable and it works well with active-person. Let them talk first!

I do like joining club as Chimbaobao recommends.
I also think that we shouldn't set a topic for every offline session. Take it easy to talk about everything which make you harmonize with that atmosphere.

Today I'm not in a good mood. Some days ago, I had a violent arguments with my wife. I wish I could be back to my youth, I should have made better choice, not be miserable like now.

You both had better dialogue frankly with each other. Family life has never been simple. Conflicts can occur at any time.

Thanks for your comment. There are many things around us. Just focus on English is a little rough I suppose. We can tell anything, and try to make our brain thinking in English.

Yeah, you're right. Everyone has their own lives, may be happy or sad. And whatever happens we try my best to get over.
